Commercial Pilot - CPL(A/H)
De Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) is het minimale vliegbrevetniveau dat vereist is om de functie van gezagvoerder te bekleden op vliegtuigen met een gewicht tot 5700 kg, of met minder dan negen passagiersstoelen. Deze opleiding is bedoeld voor diegenen die zich uitsluitend richten op een loopbaan als beroepsvlieger, bijvoorbeeld als vlieginstructeur (VFR-only), of voor het uitvoeren van bijvoorbeeld reclame- en rondvluchten. De opleiding biedt de mogelijkheid om uitsluitend het CPL-certificaat te behalen, zonder toevoeging van een Instrument Rating (IR). Ook voor helikoptervliegers met beroepsaspiraties die zich willen richten op VFR-vliegen is deze opleiding uiterst geschikt.

At the start of the theory course:
In het bezit van minstens een ICAO-erkend PPL(A) of PPL(H)
Ideally in possession of an EASA Class 1 medical certificate
Preferably at least 17 years old
Secondary education completed
Sufficient knowledge of English, mathematics, and physics
Course structure and setup
All theory courses consist of a distance learning phase (home study at your own pace) and a half-day brush-up session per subject (morning or afternoon), based on questions and answers to check your basic knowledge. These half-days are scheduled over five consecutive working days, as stated here of onderaan deze pagina staat vermeld. Deze sessies, ofwel Brush-up courses, zijn verplicht gesteld door de Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport (ILT). Na afronding van elke module volgen de examens. Deze worden maandelijks afgenomen in ons eigen ‘in-house’ examencentrum.
None of the Brush-up courses take place in Arnhem; participants follow the sessions from home via live webinars, which require a computer with a webcam and headset.
Prior to the Brush-up course, a refresher module on basic mathematics and physics has been added, with a compulsory test and an introduction to Knowledge, Skills & Attitude (KSA).
In order to keep the theory training structured and to ensure that specific components tie in well with each other, the course material, consisting of thirteen theory subjects, has been divided into two modules.

Self-study
Het grote voordeel van onze ‘distance-learning’ CPL-opleiding is dat je zelf jouw tempo en studietijd indeelt. Het thuisstudiewerkprogramma is schematisch opgebouwd in weken en dagtaken, waarbij met circa vijftien studie-uren per week een doorlooptijd van zo’n zes maanden goed haalbaar is voor beide modules, exclusief examens.
Een gemiddelde student doorloopt de CPL-theorieopleiding in ongeveer vier tot zes maanden. Module 1 duurt circa veertien weken, module 2 circa tien weken. De doorlooptijd is afhankelijk van jouw tijdsinspanning.
During the self-study, you will be guided through all subjects and topics via a simple work program for each module. Your study progress is monitored by means of mandatory progress tests. The progress tests are administered after a varying number of chapters and can be taken at home on your computer. With a single click, you can then send the test online to Orbit Groundschool for review.
